Biography

Early life

Born into the Nguyen clan, he experienced exile and fighting during the Xishan Rebellion at a young age. In Vietnam at the end of the 18th century, local forces, Chinese merchants, missionaries, and surrounding countries were intricately involved.

Achievements

After a long civil war, he founded the Nguyen dynasty and established control over the entire country with Hue as its capital. While establishing a shofu relationship with the Qing Dynasty, they also made use of French missionaries and military technology.
