Biography

Early life

Born in Monok, Kingdom of Hungary, he studied law and entered politics. Through newspapers and parliamentary activities, he advocated reform of aristocratic privileges, freedom of speech, and Hungarian autonomy.

Achievements

He became a central figure in the Hungarian government during the 1848 revolution, and aimed for a political system close to independence. Although the revolution was defeated by Austrian and Russian intervention, Kossuth continued to advocate for Hungarian independence even in exile.
